ABOUT US

Anna Koukkides-Procopiou and Paul Koronis have been working together on various projects and programs related to female empowerment, challenging gender bias in society and the workplace, and, assisting individuals express their strengths and skills.

PAUL KORONIS

Paul Koronis is a graduate of Durham University and holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Natural Sciences (Psychology & Anthropology), as well as an MA in Management by the Durham Business School with specialisation in International and Marketing Management. Along with other researchers, he is a published author of “Attachment dimensions and schizotypy in a non-clinical sample” (Journal of Personality and Individual Differences). Paul also holds professional certificates including Stepping up to Management by Harvard Business Publishing and Investment Management by the Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM).

With more than 15 years in the workplace, his experience spans from project management, customer servicing and consulting in B2B services, Banking & Finance and the Digital world. He is currently the Business Development Manager at Nobel Trust Ltd — a boutique corporate services firm) and the Executive Director of SPS.KORONIS  - a consultancy firm providing dedicated, customised and focused solutions by leveraging insights to deliver quality strategies in the fields of project management, tender procurement guidance, human capital, talent management, marketing and branding.

 

In the not for profit area, Paul is the Vice President of the Pancyprian Association for Rare Genetic Diseases "Unique Smiles", had served on the Board of Directors of AIPFE Cyprus-Women of Europe (the local chapter of a pan-European non-governmental organisation focusing on the political and economic empowerment of women). He is a Co-Founder of New European Bauhaus 2022 public vote prize winning project Gardens of the Future.

Additionally, he is one of the Co-Founders and Moderators of three (3) Lean In Circles in Nicosia, which are knowledge-sharing groups by peer-to-peer interaction, executive education, discussions and bench-marking, with the aim to empower female managers and team leaders in the workplace.

 

Since 2014 Paul is the curator and organiser of TEDxNicosia. He has produced over 15 events with his team under license by TED.com. His passion lies in the world of ideas and creativity. He believes that ideas are a powerful asset and tool for connected communities, curiosity and meaningful conversations.

With a hands-on approach, he enjoys blurring the lines between strategy and creativity across marketing, operations, finance and organisational behaviour.

ANNA KOUKKIDES-PROCOPIOU

Anna Koukkides-Procopiou is the former Minister of Justice and Public Order of the Republic of Cyprus. 

She holds First Class degrees in History and Economics from University College London, where she studied as the recipient of the UCL Cyprus Scholarship, an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a certificate in Religion and Politics by the MacMillan Centre for International and Area Studies at Yale University. She also trained as a professional Political Risk Analyst with Teneo Intelligence, one of the largest providers of political intelligence in the world, and holds an Executive Development Diploma (mini-MBA for professionals) from CIIM, Cyprus International Institute of Management.

She has more than fifteen years’ experience in corporate leadership, both as a manager with the Lanitis Group of Companies, focusing on Communications, Sales and Operations, but, also, as co-owner and manager of her own consultancy businesses. In the past, she served as executive director on the board of the largest media group in Cyprus (which is also a public company), while she has recently been invited to participate in Exxon Mobil’s Global Women in Management (GWIM) team. Additionally, she is a member of the Global Entrepreneurship Network run by the US State Department, an accredited mentor for the UK-based Cherie Blair Foundation for Women working on developing women in business and a member of the Executive Advisory Committee of the Women Economic Forum, the largest gathering of female leaders and women entrepreneurs in the world.

A well-known feminist and activist and a firm believer in female entrepreneurship as a driver of economic growth, she has co-founded in Cyprus and currently co-facilitates three empowerment Lean In circles for women executives (one in collaboration with KPMG), affiliated with Sheryl Sandberg’s LeanIN foundation in the United States. She is also a founding member and currently President of AIPFE Cyprus-Women of Europe (established in 2001), the local chapter of a pan-European non-governmental organization focusing on the political and economic empowerment of women, while simultaneously serving as Project Coordinator for two of AIPFE’s European-funded programmes (Women Fit4Business and Collaborative Learning for Gender Diversity in Decision-Making Positions) plus the AIPFE Cyprus Ernst Young Cyprus Women Fit for Business project for unemployed female university graduates.

Anna is a member of the Women in International Security network, a Senior Fellow and Member of the Advisory Board of the Cyprus Centre for European and International Affairs, University of Nicosia and a researcher with SeeD-Centre for Sustainable Peace and Democratic Development, specialising in inclusive security and gender. Additionally, she acts as executive advisor and ‘thought leader’, along with another four prominent European gender experts, to the pan-European Gender-SMART project focusing on women in science run in Cyprus by TEPAK.

​

As an active member of civil society, she has recently received the Iconic Women Changing the World award by the Women Economic Forum international summit in New Delhi (2017).
